Theme: Weddings & Marriage

< by Jill >

These days, the most common question I get is, “How’s wedding planning going?” I almost always answer, “It’s going well. Pretty much everything’s taken care of.” Either I don’t know how to plan a wedding or it’s a lot easier than everyone makes it out to be. In any case, our venue rolled all the necessities into one lovely bundle, so there’s no fretting about linens, glassware, tables, tents, or inclement weather.

So I take the conversation in a different direction and ask:

• What did you learn while you were wedding planning?

• If you could have done something differently, what would it be?

• What’s the most memorable thing you’ve seen or done at a wedding?

• What do you remember about your wedding? What would you like to forget?

• When should I start to freak out?

This week’s posts follow this line of questioning. You’ll hear stories of married folks who have been there, done that and learned lessons along the way. I can’t wait to pick up some advice, and I hope you’ll learn something too (or at least laugh along). And please feel free to join the conversation — I’m all ears for your words of wisdom!
